Celebrity Claddagh Rings have powers ?
In previous other
articles on this site, I have presented Presidents, statesmen and royalty that
have worn Irish Claddagh rings. I hope to surprise you here with some more
notable names to add the list of famous Claddagh wearers.
I have heard of the
Irish countryside, but I had not heard of Irish country music. Bagpipes and
belt buckles come immediately to mind, but don’t worry, it’s not that type of an
odd marriage. Maura O’Connell, who moved to Nashville in 1985 to start a solo
career in country music, has kept strong Irish ties. Maura wears a Claddagh
wedding band. She has a Claddagh that she says in an interview in the
Tennessean, “represents my family in Ireland. It originally belonged to my
great grandmother and has been passed down through the women in the family.”
Noel
Gallagher of the rock band Oasis wears Claddagh set with a large ruby on his
wedding finger. And to further highlight the musical powers of the Claddagh,
Bono, the front man for U2, also wears a Claddagh ring.
The acting
powers of Claddagh rings are questionable, but are nonetheless on display in
Hollywood. The most notable wearers are Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts.
Some of you women may be hoping that the true power of the Irish Claddagh ring
is its ability to draw Brad Pitt to you. Jennifer Aniston married Pitt, and
Julie Roberts was in Oceans 11 and Oceans 12 with him. Was it the ring? If
Angelina Jolie shows up wearing one, then I will be convinced.
Do you want
more meaningless Brad Pitt Claddagh occurrences? Try this. Buffy the vampire
slayer as well as Angel wear Claddagh rings. Who played in the movie The
Vampire Lestat? Tom Cruise? Yes, but also, once again, Brad Pitt.
