Claddagh is an old fishing village in Galway, Ireland, which has become famous throughout the world for Irish Claddagh Rings.  The village was named Claddagh, which is from an Irish word "cladach" or "an cladach", which means stony beach.  The stony beach refers to the shoreline near the town of Galway beside the river Corrib.  The Claddagh now has become more famous outside of Ireland for the beautiful symbolic Irish Claddagh rings, which have given as a sign of friendship and love for over 300 years
